From Others:
- A Discussion of the Issues with the Common Core Mathematics Standards (March 25, 2015) – Summary by Jim Milgram, emeritus Professor of Mathematics from Stanford University, of his issues with the Common Core Standards in Mathematics from his perspective as former co-author of California’s previous mathematics standards and only mathematician on the Common Core’s validation committee. The paper formed the crux of his presentation to La Canada parents and Governing Board members on May 26, 2016. As Milgram says in the paper, a return to curricula like Everyday Mathematics that had been discredited during the previous Math Wars of the 1990s would be “an unmitigated disaster for a high performing district like La Canada.”
- Everyday Math Survival Guide – (June 05,2016) – Recommendations from Jim Milgram, emeritus Professor of Mathematics from Stanford University, for parents of LCUSD students on how to survive Everyday Mathematics AFTER it is deployed in the District.
