Team Awards

Round 3 – Team Relay:

Note: In 2015, the team relay was composed of three teams of four students each for each school for a total of nine teams competing head-to-head. Grade-level teams had not yet been instituted. The teams contributed to their team score and no grade-level awards were given for the team relay round. In addition, teams were awarded points for answering questions correctly (5 pts on the first try, 3 pts on the second try, 1 pt on the third try, and zero points after three attempts), as well as bonus points for being the first team to answer a question correctly. Time bonus points were awarded as follows: 5 pts for the first team to answer the question correctly, 4 pts for the second team to answer correctly, and so on down to 1 pt for the fifth team to answer the question correctly.

The top team was PCR team #2, consisting of Jorday Lay (6th grade), Mikaela Magtoto (6th grade), William Pham (5th grade), and Colin Wang (5th grade), who answered 14 questions correctly on the first try and 2 additional questions correctly on the second try for a total of 79 points for correct responses. They earned an additional 70 time bonus points for a total of 149 points. The second-ranked team was from LCE, which earned 96 total points and was comprised of Vedha Mahesh, Amelia Seropian, Owen Seropian, and Nadia Lintag.
